COVID-19 Stay Calm and Support your Immune System

  • Mar 25, 2020

COVID-19 has been classified as a global pandemic, as well as a national emergency. You are probably feeling pretty stressed out and unsure about what to do and how to protect yourself and your loved ones. Let us help.

Health recommendations to support your immune system during this pandemic panic.

Obviously, wash your hands. Stay in your house, and don’t touch your face too much.

The people most at risk from the COVID-19 infections are people with suppressed immune systems and the elderly. People with diabetes and cardiovascular disease are also more likely to have dangerous complications if they get the virus.

Your immune system is designed and trained to attack viruses and protect you from illness. However, your immune system may not be functioning optimally because of:

  • stress – turns off the immune system
  • inadequate nutrition – less than optimal nutrition or supplementation means the body doesn’t have what it needs to mount a defense.
  • inflammation – distracts your immune system
  • toxicity – paralyzes the immunes system
  • high sugar/carbohydrate intake – paralyzes the immune system

In our opinion, the best plan for any health issue is to address the three main drivers of disease: Stress, Inflammation and Toxicity. Since COVID-19 is a virus, we can also add in antivirals that have shown to be effective against the virus. Our favorites are garlic, nettles, and green tea.

We are “sheltering at home” to decrease the speed of the spread of the disease. By slowing the spread, we help ensure there are enough ventilators in hospitals for the people who need them. Ventilators help people to breathe when their lungs aren’t working. NAC is used as a mucolytic, which means it breaks up mucus in the lungs. It also helps you make glutathione, a powerful antioxidant.
